- I was inspired to complete this song which I started writing a while back after hearing the instrumental production by Scottfro ( co-founder of IrieWay Records) titled,’Green Living’. Coincidentally , my song was to be called, ‘Clean Living’. The lyrics seemed to fit well with the beat and the rest flowed naturally . The tune was originally to be about bulding awareness of the efforts of environmentalist and I then decided to simplify it to have it be a bit broader in content yet still keeping the same vibe which is to respect mama Earth and be true to self. These are things that are needed if we intend to keep or build a better balance. We can say live and let live but we can’t forget our responsibility as beings that are nurtured by this planet . Whether it be a cry for more love, a chant to burn all parlor tricks or heavy drums to call the soldiers…, we should never feel that such messages are recycled chat of yesteryear. I said it before and will say it again . Music is just one of the many tools we can use to uplift, motivate and educate so let’s be glad that we have embraced such a gift. I am thankful for this opportunity to work with Scottfro whose work I have admired for quite some time. If you feel the vibe then deffinitely check out our other works in the future.
