About:
Obtained his first pair of decks in the late summer of 98. Starting off with more of a jump up style, Jungle became his main passion with electronic music. After learning beat matching he decided to dive into hip-hop and turntablism. He got into the Chicago scene and started working for production companies such as Vibeonauts, Direct Drive and Transparent productions playing at parties with dj’s such as Mix Master Mike, Spooky, Dj Hype, Odi, Phantom 45, Danny the Wildchild, and many others in all genres. With some luck he found a few ragga records here and there, but it was not that often. Being influenced by his brother’s love for reggae he got deeper into the ragga jungle sound. In 2001 he co-founded the Chicago based Junglist Souljah Kru which holds down the ragga and jungle scene in the Chi! Now his style is a fuse of ragga jungle / reggae / and hip-hop laced with turntablism. After spinning for some years, he decided to learn the ways of production. For the past few years he has produced many tracks and learned the different programs associated with electronic music production. Making both jungle and hip hop tracks his ragga style tends to lean more toward a classic ragga jungle sound. Tryin to keep it the Irie Way.
