About: Jamie Saunders AKA Preecha - Former resident of Subconscious/Frequency and Mash up Mondays - Owner of Jungle Forever and Junglist Soldiers Records.
I started raving/parting in late 1993 in the US capital. I was at first interested in german trace (dark erie stuff) and early rave/house. I started listening to jungle/dnb in 1993 with a intelligent dnb cd called Counterforce. After that I got the Law of the Jungle cd on Moonshine. I still wasn’t fully sold on jungle music. It took a 1994 JJ Jellybean tape and then two Micky Finn tapes to really get me locked on old school/ragga jungle. I started to collect all the tapes I could at that time, whilst going to raves in the DC/Baltimore area in the USA.
My turntables came to me as a present from my mums. I started spinnin house and jungle in my last year of high school. I remember the moment I decided to stop spinning house and deicate myself to jungle exclusively. Into 1995 the style started to change to jump up and then early tech step and I didnt know where to get old school jungle records, so i started playing current stuff. This trend lasted until late 2001 when i started finding records online and connected with Josh Smith (Don Daka) and he learned me on tons of track names. As time went on I collected all the classics I had wanted and started getting into the much rarer tunes, that I think are many times so much better. I have dedicated my love of music for my love of God and try my best to express that and true positivity in my music. So for the last 3 years ive lived in Phoenix AZ and have been playing stricly old school jungle and im now producing. I have 2 record labels underway with many things prepared for the future.
