About:
I’m a DJ, producer, and record label owner living in Chicago. I got started in electronic music pretty early (in terms of my age, not in terms of electronic music history)–I began buying rave, jungle, and house 12″s in the early 1990s, and played my first DJ gig in 1995 (at the tender age of 13! it was adorable). Since then, I’ve played at over 400 events in 15 countries, alongside electronic music legends like Juan Atkins, 4Hero, Plaid, The Bug, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Ghislain Poirier, Aux88, Mark 1, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, DJ SS, Bong-Ra, Legowelt, Ssion, Remarc, Bizzy B, Nookie, Kid606, Pinch, R.A.W, Michael Foreshaw, Parasite, Enduser, 0=0, and more.

As a producer, I first got attention through a lot of old-school-influenced neo-jungle tunes. My jungle stuff tends to be very heavy on drumwork and edits, with a lot of gangsta rap influence and a little bit of ragga influence (although I tend to shy away from full-on vocal tracks). After successful jungle releases on Mashit, Clash, and some other labels, as well as a fair chunk of press exposure from XLR8R, Grooves, BBC Radio 1, Pitchfork Media, and loads of others, I founded my own label, Dead Homies, as an outlet for catchy, dancefloor-worthy, well-produced, forward-thinking jungle and dubstep.

In addition to jungle, however, I’m a huge nerd about a lot of other genres: classic rave, speed garage, chicago house, ghettotech / juke, dancehall, electro, bassline, new wave, post-punk, soca, dubstep, and most of all disco. After a year or two of making jungle records, I started taking the focus off of jungle, looking to broaden my discography, the type of people I work with, and ultimately my audience. I set up a second label, Sleazetone Records, to put out sleaze pop, hi-NRG, bassline, tech house, juke / ghettotech, rave revival type stuff, speed garage, and anything else that strikes me as really amazing party music but doesn’t fall under the rather strict mission statement of Dead Homies. The label has been doing well, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
