DJ Mayday is resident at Junglist Fridays. In addition to playing the JF weekly, she can be found promoting and playing her weekly event DoggyStyle Sundays, also at Blue Dogg. Alongside Corey K, the manager of Montreal’s leading record shop DNA, the night showcases everything from Jungle/ DNB to 2 Step and House.
With a debut release just out on Second Room Sound Recordings, and a few more tracks to see release on SRS in the coming year, she is more than making waves in the ranks of North American Jungle/Drum n Bass talent.
An established DJ who has played both locally and nationally, Mayday is a Staff Contributor on Montreal Drum and Breaks (www.mtldnb.com) and also directs the websites monthly Fashion Section. She’s worked in the studio solo and well as alongside artists as Montreal’s own Krinjah (Hand Grenade Sound), Subtone (Metaphor Recordings, UK) and Tester (Trilogy Sound). Mayday has also collaborated with UK Jungle/DNB vocalists Demolition Man & Million Dan as well as Canada favourites Jazzy Jane and MC Trigger.
Expect the best selections of the newest of Jungle/DNB, some which have yet to see release on vinyl, as well as the timeless classics which the crowds have come to know and love.
