Her smooth mixing, varied track selection, and ability to create a journey through sound have proven Gaia’s solidity and talent as a DJ. Anyone who’s experienced one of Gaia’s live sets can vow for enjoying the ride on rhythms, blended with precision.

Being a military brat, she has lived all over the USA, and has spent time in Panama and Germany as well. Since as far back as she can remember, beats have always moved her. When she was a child she aspired to be a professional dancer. She began spinning in late 2002, and although she had been watching Dj’s for years and had many friends into spinning vinyl, she is proud of being a self-taught DJ.

With more than 5 years of involvement in the dance music and club scene, and her first love being hip-hop, it only made sense that her first record purchase consisted of the broken beats of Jungle and Drum n Bass. After only three months of practice, a friend and fellow DnB Dj in her city of Wichita, Kansas invited her to spin at Atlantis, an after hours club, on a semi-regular basis in 2003. With little experience, she just let the music flow and it all came naturally. Within a short time she was consistently wreckin’ dance floors at raves and clubs both locally and out of state. She has played regularly with MCs Carbon and Scenario, and welcomes the opportunity to work with other talented MCs.

Gaia’s style can vary from dark, hard, and moody drum and bass, to the smooth, minimal, or dance floor sounds of tech-step, as well as old school, atmospheric jungle. She also has a trip-hop and downtempo collection, which she hopes to play more of in the future. Gaia has played at a wide variety of events, from regional Burning Man gatherings to small coffee shops, camp-outs, weeklies, charity events, and everything in-between. She has had the enjoyment of playing along-side prominent DJ’s such as Soul Slinger, Freaky Flow, Dj Craze, and Tester to name a few.

Gaia and Craveone host a bi-weekly net radio show, broadcasted worldwide, every other Wednesday at 5-8pm CST on Drum n Bass TV that has been running for over a year. Tune in!
