About:
Digital Pervert’s origin is in Lille, France but he has been living in Belgium for several years now.
He started mixing acid house in ’93 when this genre started to conquer Europe. After a trip to London in ’95 he got to know a newborn style called ‘jungle techno’, which was influenced by reggae, breakbeat and techno. It gave him a natural feeling of tripping which made him start to collect jungle vinyl. Heads like DJ Krome, Mr Time, Kemet Kru, Remarc and Ganja Kru instantly became his favourite producers.
At the same time he got influenced by listening to different musical styles. To name a few: experimental electronica from artists like Aphex Twin and Squarepusher and also French reggae and Jamaican ragga from Big Red, Capleton and Sizzla.
In ’98 he moved to Brussels to form the Rock Baby Kru with MC Kopat (F) and two years later he met DJ Bazz-X, D-Mon and Raggamuffin Whiteman which resulted in his membership of Bazzheadz Kru.
During all these years he also organised free parties under the name Whistlhorn Raggajungle, he played several times at Brussels’ radio shows like Radio Panique and Boups and performed at graffiti expositions in Brussels like Under Control featuring writers l’Atlas, Pablow, Sunset, Tanc (F) and TAT featuring writers from IVA-crew (B).
Now, in 2005, he has co-founded Gorilla Sound with Raggamuffin Whiteman and Abdicator to organise raggajungle parties and mix jungle in soundsystem style.
Digital Pervert started performing in ’99 and hasn’t stopped since that day. He played at the Zamac festival in Paris twice and played in Belgium and France next to Millenium Kru (B), System-D (B), MC Kopat (F), No U-Turn (UK), MC Ricky D (B), Elipse Sound (F), Raggamuffin Whiteman (B), Ebola (F), Tshang (F), Rom1 (F), Muschka (B), Juice Blenders (B), Dope Ammo (Uk), Earsut (F), Lord Bitum (F), Carbone (F), Jungle Junkies (B), Baz (B), Mister Samy (F), TLP (B), Jacky Murda (USA) and so on…
When performing Digital Pervert likes to treat the crowd with a mixture between past and present, combining complex drum’n’bass rythms with intelligent, energetic and hypnotic sounds that results in an invitation to a tribal dance on raggajungle, raggabass and pure jungle tunes.
