About:
Born into a musical family, Bass Nacho grew up in Miami, around the reggae sound since day one. Always rapping & singing, Nacho’s first big release was with his group Kings of Kings, a dirty south style hiphop crew that still lays down tracks to this day. After becoming involved with the rave scene in Miami, Bass Nacho eventually linked up with Dre the Emperor and found himself a new niche, Mcing to Jungle/Drum & Bass. Looking to expand on that, Bass Nacho moved up to New York City & became an integral part of SurvivalNYC with his current DJ & production partner, Human?
In the demanding NYC climate, Bass Nacho has learned how to put on a show that is guaranteed to bring enjoyment to all who watch. Nacho has performed at countless NYC one-offs and about every single weekly party, including a several year residence at NYC’s Konkrete Jungle. With years of performing all around the United States under his belt, Bass Nacho has perfected the art of making people move.

In Early 2004, “Don’t Wanna Run Up Inna Dat” was released on Chopstick Dubplate (Chop 05). Produced by Jacky Murda, Chopstick #5 has quickly become an underground Jungle classic. The tune highlights Bass Nacho’s versatility and has earned him praise throughout the community as the new voice of American Jungle. Followed by two subsequent releases on Blacklist Records, Bass Nacho has established himself as a recording artist, a truly original vocalist for Jungle/Drum & Bass in the U.S.

June 2004 finally saw the release of Survival’s highly anticipated DVD project, JungleVibes.tv. The first JungleVibes release is a compilation of video footage from mid 2003 – early 2004, highlighting many Jungle/Drum & Bass talents. Included in the footage were several Survival performances & the entire DVD is hosted, filmed, edited & designed by Bass Nacho & Human?. Junglevibes.tv is a continuing project, with new footage constantly being acquired & plans for more releases underway.

In July 2004, Blacklist Records dropped its first vinyl single. Featuring two raw jungle tracks, Blacklist 001 was an instant success. The A side, called “Bigger Den Dat”, is produced by DJ Taktik from New Zealand’s Ruffneck Souljah Crew along with Stada and Bass Nacho on the vocals. The AA side is called “Time & Place”, and is produced by Human? with Bass Nacho once again putting down another awesome vocal track.
Shortly after dropping their first release, Blacklist hit the stores with number two, a groundbreaking single entitled “Boombaya”. Blacklist 002 has two mixes of Boombaya, both produced by Human? & Bass Nacho, both fusing elements of Hiphop, Reggae & Jungle sounds. The vocalists who appear on Boombaya are M-1 (from Dead Prez), Gudamowf, CK, Bang 2 & Bass Nacho. Combining an important political message with genre-breaking production styles, Boombaya explores new possibilities of substance and mass appeal.
Early 2005 saw the release of JungleVibes.tv Volume 2, making it officially a series with future episodes in the works.
